Downtown Reno's core

Silver Legacy, Circus Circus and Eldorado connect via skybridges into the Row — one property in practice, three brands. Eldorado has the best rooms after its recent refresh, Silver Legacy the biggest poker room, and Circus Circus the family angle with the midway. Table minimums sit at $10 blackjack midweek, climbing to $15-$25 weekends. The Row is walkable to the Truckee River path and downtown restaurants, which most other Reno casinos aren’t.

Grand Sierra Resort sits east of downtown and dwarfs everyone on room count. It's a taxi ride to anywhere else, but the property is self-contained: bowling, movie theatre, driving range, decent buffet. Rooms in the tower are large and quiet. Peppermill, further south on Virginia Street, has the most opulent interior in Reno and the best pool complex. Both suit travellers who don’t need to leave the property.

The value picks and who they suit

Atlantis Casino Resort Spa across from the convention centre punches above its weight — good rooms, strong spa, and connected by skybridge to convention space. Nugget Casino Resort in Sparks feels dated but rooms run $60-$90 midweek and the sportsbook is serious. Sands Regency is the cheapest downtown play at under $50 many weeknights; you get what you pay for, but the location is walkable.

For actual gambling odds and comps, Peppermill and Atlantis lead the pack on video poker paytables — Reno's traditional strength. Downtown properties lean heavier on penny slots. If you’re a table player, poker rooms at Silver Legacy and Peppermill run daily tournaments with reasonable buy-ins. Avoid Circus Circus if you want quiet at night; the midway noise carries into lower floors of the tower.
