1. Skyfall Lounge, Delano, 64th floor — south-facing floor-to-ceiling glass looking straight up the Strip, $20 minimum, no cover. Best sunset in the city. 2. Legacy Club, Circa, Downtown — rooftop, 60 stories, the only serious cocktail bar above Fremont Street. 3. High Roller observation wheel — 550 feet, 30-minute rotation, book the 7-8pm slot for sunset-into-neon. 4. Stratosphere/STRAT tower — 108th floor, still the highest observation deck west of the Mississippi at 869 feet, $20. 5. Red Rock Canyon overlook at Lovell Canyon — free, 25 minutes off the Strip, best view of the city from the west at dusk.
Skyfall wins because it faces the right direction at the right height. Legacy Club is the only Downtown competitor worth the elevator ride.
Timing and honest trade-offs
Go to the highest bar 30 minutes before sunset — you want to be seated when the desert light turns and the Strip's neon comes on. Skyfall and Legacy both fill fast; walk-ins after 6pm risk a wait. The High Roller is the only view that includes you in the shot; Sphere lights it up on the west side.
Skips: the Eiffel Tower Viewing Deck ($26.50) is fine but you’re looking at the wrong side of Bellagio's fountains from too low. The Foundation Room at Mandalay Bay lost its edge when Skyfall opened one tower over.
