Saint George is reached by car via Interstate 15, about two hours northeast of Las Vegas, Nevada, and four hours south of Salt Lake City. St. George Regional Airport has limited commercial flights, but most visitors arrive by road. Once in town a car is the most practical way to get around, since Snow Canyon and Zion lie outside the city centre. A local bus system exists but service is limited; ride-hailing and taxis are available, and downtown is walkable if you stay in the core.
When to go
Spring, from March to May, and fall, from September to November, are the most comfortable seasons, with mild temperatures suited to hiking and outdoor activities. Summer is extremely hot, with daytime highs often above 100°F, so early mornings are best. Winter is mild, with occasional cold snaps and rare snowfall, and is a quiet time to visit.
