When to go

Summer is the most popular time to visit Garden City, when the lake is warm enough for swimming and boating and the raspberry season peaks in late summer. July and August are the busiest months. Spring and autumn are quieter, with cooler temperatures and fewer services open. Winter brings cold weather and snow, and some businesses close for the season, but the lake and mountains remain scenic. If you prefer fewer crowds, consider visiting in June or September.
