About Kings Beach

Kings Beach functions as a year-round base for Lake Tahoe activities. In summer, the lake draws swimmers, kayakers and paddleboarders, while nearby trails in the Tahoe National Forest and around Brockway Summit serve hikers and mountain bikers. Winter brings skiers and snowboarders to the region's downhill and cross-country areas. The town centre is compact and walkable, with restaurants, cafés and equipment rentals along the main road. Several of the hotels listed on our site are in Kings Beach itself, and others are in the Brockway Springs and Brockway Shores areas just west of the centre. Most are four-star properties, with a single three-star option.

Summer (June to September) is the most popular time, with warm days for swimming, kayaking and hiking, though afternoons can bring thunderstorms. Spring and autumn are quieter, with cooler temperatures and fewer crowds; some businesses reduce their hours in the shoulder seasons.
